At the new Kohler Waters Spa in Burr Ridge, sleep-deprived patrons can catch a catnap on the heels of their massage service. After completing an hour-long massage, the therapist leaves you face down on the table and wordlessly exits the room before returning 15 minutes later to wake you gently. I surprised myself by not falling asleep, but I still thoroughly enjoyed having some meditative time to reflect on how relaxed my muscles felt after my treatment. And being brought back to reality by the twinkle of a ringing bell and a soft hand on my back made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. But the nap service costs the same as it would to be rubbed for those extra 15 minutes, so I’d only recommend this splurge if you’re really tired and have some money to burn. Instead, bring your swimsuit and build extra time into your spa stay for chilling in Kohler’s beautiful “Circle of Tranquility”—steam room, sauna, showers and hot tubs—which comes free with your treatment. $150 for 60-minute massage with nap; $150 for 75-minute massage. 775 Village Center Drive, Burr Ridge (630-323-7674, destinationkohler.com).
