One of the top items on your must-see list of Chicago is museums. Chicago’s world-renowned museums offer a plentitude of opportunities for inspiration and education for kids of all ages.
Start your adventures at the Chicago Children’s Museum. Visit the Inventing Lab and the dinosaur excavation pit. Or head to the bottom of the ocean and scale the Kovler Family Climbing Schooner. As an added bonus, kids under 15 get in free the first Monday of every month and everyone gets in free on Thursdays from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Learn about the many wonders of nature at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Kids age 3 - 7 can get a hands-on look at animal homes at the Hands-on Habitat exhibit. Don’t miss the Crown Family Play Lab at the Field Museum. Not only will your kids learn all about nature and the world’s cultures, but they’ll even get to star in their own play!
Kids got their sights set on the stars? Combine science, space, and inspiration at the kid-friendly exhibits at the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum. The BIGsmall exhibit, Touch Gallery, and Improvisations: Picture Books by Chris Raschka exhibit will spark artistic ambitions at the Art Institute of Chicago.
