Buddy Guy’s Legends offers up local and national touring acts. Kingston Mines is Chicago’s oldest blues club and won “Most Popular Blues Club” at the 2008 Chicago Music Awards.
If the sweet echo of wind instruments and improvisational sounds is more what you are looking for, then immerse yourself in Chicago’s renowned jazz scene. Andy’s Jazz Club & Restaurant has been offering all forms of jazz for over 30 years. The Back Room’s “no standing” policy guarantees that you’ll have comfortable seats for the show, but be sure to make reservations in advance. Green Dolphin Street, a jazz and upscale supper club, regularly hosts jazz shows, and dining patrons get free admission to the shows.
Those into indie and alternative styles should check out the Vic, Riviera, and Metro theatres.
